Members of Saudi Arabia’s largest Special Olympics delegation ever took part in the opening ceremony of the Special Olympics World Games. The team’s 50 male and female athletes stood proud in the Kingdom’s colors, joined by over 7,500 athletes from around the world and more than 40,000 supporters in the stadium. “It is such an honor to be here,” said Nasser Al Dawsari, one of the athletes leading the delegation. “Being in the Special Olympics was always a goal for me. I feel such happiness and pride.” During the Games, Saudi Arabia’s athletes will compete across 10 sports, including bocce, basketball, athletics, powerlifting, roller skating, swimming, triathlon, table tennis, bowling, and unified sports.
